EANS is a powerful tool intended to monitor and analyze an AFDX network. This tool uses the SNMP protocol and avionics MIB (E/S & SW) to provide immediate information about equipments status and network activities.
Running on a PC with a standard AFDX or Ethernet card, this software allows to examine easily MIB objects, give historical data, and compute equipment status.

EANS displays the state of your avionics network. New avionics equipments (E/S & SW) are fitted with MIB and SNMP agent. The EANS tool collects MIB data by the SNMP manager function. By using this data it perform as an advanced viewer.
The monitoring functionalities permits to know by a simple color code (green, amber, red) the network availability. The main purpose is:
Network observer
- Equipment status: Healthy, Faulty, Passive mode,
- Link rate:10Mbit/S or 100Mbit/s,
- VL definition.
Error observer
- The color code permits to visualize if MAC, IP, ICMP, TCP and UDP errors are lower than thresholds.
ICMP Error details
- Shows ICMP error details, min, max, average and “standard deviation” for echo answers (ping).
Communication
- Detail on input and output traffic. Thresholds is user defined.
Configuration
- Correlation between ICD/NCD load and real equipment definition (PN, SN, ... verification).
Safety
- Safety test is perform on switches chosen by the user.
The statistics functionalities permits, through an MIB browser to:
- Follow, in real time, one or several MIB object in the same graphs,
- Create Macro-MIB object. A macro-MIB is composed by different MIB object from different equipments,
- Customize graphical display (data sample intervals, durations time, ...),
- Record raw data. |
