The EATS tool makes possible to generate a traffic representative of the AFDX protocol. It is a test means intended for investigation, debug activities and for checking the robustness of various equipments.
Running on a standard PC with an AFDX or Ethernet card, this software allows to describe an AFDX communication in accordance with the ICD files.

EATS simulates an End System in order to define:
- VL comprising the following information :
- Identifier and sub identifier,
- Bag,
- MAC address source,
- Size. |

AFDX ports (sampling or queuing) comprising the following information:
- Type (sampling or queuing),
- Source and destination IP addresses,
- Source and destination ports,
- Period of emission for sampling ports,
- Datagram size, which can be upper than VL’s length if fragmentation is requested. |
